You might be wondering what’s this Called to Create book about? Should I read it? is this book only for creative christian people? who is this book for? Who actually is Jordan Raynor?
Don’t worry, those were my questions also and I’ll try to answer all of these questions below.
Who is the author?
As described on his Amazon profile “Jordan Raynor is a serial entrepreneur and national bestselling author who leads a growing community of Christians following God’s call to create. He currently serves as the CEO of the venture-backed tech startup, Threshold 360. He is also a cofounder of Citizinvestor, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform for government projects. His book Startup Stories debuted in the #1 bestseller spot in multiple Amazon categories, including entrepreneurship and Christian business. Jordan has twice been selected as a Google Fellow and served in the Bush White House in 2006. He lives in Tampa, Florida, with his wife and their two young daughters.”
Who is this book for?
Called to Create is for all the creators out there, all that are ‘wired to create’. Entrepreneurs, writers, painters, musicians, photographers, artists, employees or employers this book is for you to equip and inspire you “to view your work as nothing less than service to God and the world”.
I found this comment somewhere about the book “for Christian artists who have been told their creation isn’t valuable enough, not religious enough, not evangelical enough, or has no eternal significance, this book is for you. And it will change the way you think about your work.”
What’s this book about?
This book is divided into 4 parts. The first part lays down a theological foundation around work and calling helping us discern and embrace the call to create. The second part examines how creating for our Caller changes the why, what, and how of our creating. Part three wrestles with the challenges unique to or especially acute for the Christian creator. Last part issues a charge for Christian creators to create for the Kingdom.

My favourite quote
This book had a huge impact on me. My view on work changed and made me realised that all the things I create have an eternal value. My work is as ‘holy’ as one of a person in ‘full-time ministry’.
“We are made in the image of the Creator God; thus, when we follow His call to create new businesses, art, books, and other products, we are reflecting His character to the world”
Should you read it?
In conclusion I would definetly recommend the book for you to read. If you already read it share your favourite quote in the comments section bellow.
